Details of swing plane axis Welcome to the BACKtoGOLF Web site! This is the year of golf fitness awareness. We at BACKtoGOLF think it is the next natural progressive step in the evolution of the golf industry. The technology of the equipment is moving forward at a dramatic pace, and so is the technology of the biomechanics of the golf swing. BACKtoGOLF defines golf swing biomechanics as "the body's ability to move to support the golf club."

Computer technology is telling us more and more about the movement and how the body reacts to the swing. The BACKtoGOLF Performance model fits with this technology perfectly, as our approach to the swing is from the movement of the body while supporting the club during the swing.

BACKtoGOLF Our approach is to look at the movement axis' of the body, it's joints, muscles, tissues, and bones. The BACKtoGOLF golf swing therapist will evaluate the movement with a special "Six Step Evaluation"TM that can analyze the muscle balance and flexibility of the tissues that come under tension during the golf swing. The golfer is then given special exercises, hands-on treatment, and special "reaction" drills to coordinate the body movements with the swing PGA Swing motion.

This approach to golf works very well with the golf professionals teaching method or process, as the physical therapist does not teach the golf swing OR how to hit a ball. The physical therapist will train the golfer to position the body to position the club when the golfer has the flexibility, muscle balance, and strength, stability of the trunk.

This is an important part of the program, teaching the golfer to feel the body and its parts moving during the swing. Most golfers have no concept of body position, tissue tension, weight shifting, hip rotation, etc. To you this is second nature, developed over years of golf and study of the swing.

The golfer's improved sense of where the body is during the movement of the golf swing will make your job so much easier and effective. The golf professional is an essential part of the BACKtoGOLF program. Laird Small, PGA is our professional advisor and reviews all information for consistency to the teaching model and the proper golf swing position.
