Seminar Times: Saturday Registration: 7:45 a.m.
Day 1: Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Day 2: Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Pre-requisites: None, however it is helpful that the participant have a background in soft tissue/spinal mobilization and spinal biomechanics/ stabilization. Basic concepts of these topics will be covered in the context of the golf swing.
Seminar Contact Hours: 15
Dress: Please wear loose fitting shorts and clothing for lab.
Equipment: A 5 iron. If you cannot bring this due to arriving via plane, one will be provided.
Detailed Course Timeline:

Saturday – Day One:
Morning activities:
7:45 – 8:00 Registration/arrive

8:00 – 8:30 – Class introduction, introduction of concepts of communication and seminar.

8:30 – 10:15  The neurology of motor learning and control. Considerations of biomechanical approach to the golf swing, Intro to biomechanics of the golf swing and forces involved in the golf swing.

10:15 to 10:30 – Break

10:30 to 12:00 – Rotational axis’ of the golf swing, technical mechanics of the golf swing, golf swing video- introduction to the Six Step Evaluation™. Evaluation of Postural compensations.  Common swing faults.

12:00 to 1:00 – Lunch on your own

Afternoon activities:
1:00 to 2:30- the Six Step Evaluation™ Lab. Common swing faults, continued.

2:00 to 4:00 – Manual therapy techniques for increasing flexibility of the spine, postural restoration exercises and stretches.

4:00 to 6:00 - Video tape of golf swings, analysis of swing faults.  Classification of swing faults by swing phase and movement.


Sunday – Day Two:
Morning activities:
8:00 am to 10:00 am - Review, question and answer of Six Step Evaluation™, swing faults and program design.

10:30 to 12:00 – Exercise for strength, balance and coordination.

12:00 to 1:00 – Lunch on your own

Afternoon activities:
1:00 to 2:30 – Six Step Evaluation™ video review, questions to class regarding swing movements and swing faults,  Balance program, Postural program outline.

2:30 to 2:45 – Break

2:45 to 4:00-  Marketing and program development for the clinic, communication techniques, “how to sell the program to golfers and golf teaching professionals, Question and answer of specific program components and application.
